Apple designs, manufactures and markets smartphones, personal computers, tablets, wearables and accessories, and sells related services such as the App Store, AppleCare, cloud storage, advertising and Apple Pay. Net sales for the fiscal year ended September 27, 2025 were $416.2 billion: iPhone $209.6 billion, Services $109.2 billion, Wearables, Home and Accessories $35.7 billion, Mac $33.7 billion and iPad $28.0 billion. Apple had about 166,000 full-time equivalent employees at September 27, 2025. Headquarters are at One Apple Park Way, Cupertino, California.

On October 23, 2026 the careers site showed more than 600 open US postings (open postings, not hires). By location, Cupertino and Sunnyvale each also passed 600, Santa Clara had 451, San Diego 404 and Seattle 266. The fiscal 2025 annual report names no site other than the Cupertino headquarters.

Job titles and levels you will see

The most frequent 2025 LCA titles were Software Engineering Applications (710), Software Development Engineering (698), Software Engineering Systems (574) and Machine Learning (378), with a median base salary of $174,304. Postings mark seniority with Senior, Sr., Principal and Manager, not numbered bands. On October 23, 2026 the examples included Senior Software Engineering Manager, Agentic Infrastructure in Cupertino and Seattle, with a published base pay range of $237,600 to $401,700, and Principal Applied Research Engineer/Scientist, Siri Labs.

How Apple is organized

Apple manages its business geographically through five reportable segments: Americas, Europe (which also takes in India, the Middle East and Africa), Greater China (China mainland, Hong Kong and Taiwan), Japan, and Rest of Asia Pacific. Fiscal 2025 net sales were Americas $178.4 billion, Europe $111.0 billion, Greater China $64.4 billion, Rest of Asia Pacific $33.7 billion and Japan $28.7 billion. Workforce and hiring patterns

Full-time equivalent headcount was about 161,000 at September 30, 2023, 164,000 at September 28, 2024 and 166,000 at September 27, 2025. Apple Inc LCA filings rose from 3,622 in calendar 2023 to 4,305 in 2024 and 7,435 in 2025. California WARN notices in 2026: a permanent closure in Escondido affecting 57 employees, effective June 24, 2026, and three layoff notices dated August 20, 2026, effective October 19, 2026, covering 79 employees in Cupertino and 68 at two Sunnyvale offices, 147 in all. On August 21, 2026 Macworld, citing Bloomberg, reported about 200 job cuts across the Vision Pro, Siri and software teams.
