United States of America
The Home Depot is a home improvement retailer that ran 2,359 stores in the US, Canada and Mexico at the end of fiscal 2025, which closed on February 1, 2026. It employed about 472,400 associates at that date, 89.4% of them in the US. The headquarters, which the company calls the Store Support Center, is in Atlanta, Georgia.
Puerto Rico, the US Virgin Islands and Guam count as US locations in the 2,359-store total at February 1, 2026. A typical store has about 104,000 square feet indoors and about 24,000 square feet of outdoor garden space. Stores and the website sell home improvement products, building materials, lawn and garden and decor products, and facilities maintenance supplies. Installation services and tool rental round out the offer. Of about 472,400 associates at that date, 422,500 (89.4%) worked in the US. Corporate headquarters is the Store Support Center at 2455 Paces Ferry Road in Atlanta.
Atlanta dominates the visa paperwork. H-1B labor condition applications (LCAs) submitted in calendar 2025 numbered 355, and 204 of them named an Atlanta worksite. Home Depot Management Company LLC filed 323 of the 355 and Home Depot USA Inc filed 32. Only one city cleared 25 filings that year:
The other 151 filings were scattered across dozens of cities, none with more than 9.
At the end of fiscal 2025 the company operated over 500 distribution and fulfillment centers and warehouses. Its fiscal 2025 annual report also lists sourcing offices in Mexico, Canada, India, Vietnam, Taiwan and China, plus certain locations in Europe.
Software engineering fills most of the calendar 2025 filings. Sr. Software Engineer appears on 57 and Staff Software Engineer on 49, together 106 of the 355. Principal and manager titles are rarer: Software Engineer Principal (8), Software Engineer Sr. Principal (6) and Software Engineer Manager (8). Data science runs from Associate Data Scientist (9) through Data Scientist (11) and Sr. Data Scientist (11) to Lead Data Scientist (6). Sr. Machine Learning Engineer appears 7 times. The 2025 filings use 119 distinct titles in all.
The careers site in October 2026 splits jobs into two tracks. Hourly store and distribution center roles include Cashier and Freight Associate. The salaried, corporate and support track covers Assistant Store Manager, Store Manager and Store Support Center jobs in technology and marketing.
The company reports one segment, the Primary segment, which combines its US, Canada and Mexico operating segments. SRS, a residential specialty trade distributor acquired on June 18, 2024, sits outside it. In fiscal 2025 SRS completed its purchase of GMS, a specialty building products distributor. Four lines of business now make up SRS: roofing and building products, interior and construction products, landscape, and pool. None of them is a reportable segment. Together they operated over 1,250 locations in the US and Canada at the end of fiscal 2025.
Most associates are paid by the hour. About 53,400 of the 472,400 at the end of fiscal 2025 were salaried. Canada had 31,700 associates (6.7%) and Mexico 17,800 (3.8%). Another 400 worked in the sourcing organization in India, Italy, Poland, Türkiye, Taiwan, Vietnam and China. On January 28, 2026, the company said it would cut about 800 roles tied to the Atlanta Store Support Center. Fewer than 150 of those people worked at the center, and the rest were remote. The same announcement moved corporate staff to a five-day in-office schedule. LCA filings went from 286 in calendar 2023 to 382 in 2024 and 355 in 2025.
