Last week, my manager brought up the issue during a meeting, saying the twilight shift was flexible. But for people commuting from places like Bangi, it's not flexible at all. I had to leave my house at 4 PM for my shift at the New York site, battling heavy traffic the entire way. I didn't get to the office until nearly 5:30. By the time I settled in, I only had a couple hours to get things done. When I mentioned the commute issue, my manager shrugged it off, saying it was just a part of life here. We should be grateful to have jobs, I guess. But it's hard to be productive when huge chunks of time are swallowed by travel. I'm thinking about pushing for better options, since this is unsustainable for a lot of us getting to New York. Simply put, commuting shouldn't eat so many productive hours.
