Had a conversation with a colleague last week at the Halifax office. They mentioned how much they missed the flexibility we used to have - working from home or adjusting hours without issue. Just a few months ago, we could shift things around as needed, but now it feels like that's been completely taken off the table. It's frustrating to see the change, especially when it seemed to fit our needs and improved our outputs. Now we're stuck with rigid hours and a lot of grumbling, which makes for a tense atmosphere. I heard someone mention Newport, Wales, as a site that's especially hard hit by these changes, where morale is really low. Can't shake the sense that it's all part of a bigger shift that we're not quite seeing yet. Just wish we could go back to how it was.
