Having the freedom to choose how to work and even access remote options in some roles sounds progressive on paper. In reality, many employees feel that this freedom comes with very little room to grow unless they move into management, and leadership often seems disconnected from daily operational issues. Without clear development paths and role clarity, “freedom” can start to feel like being left alone to navigate a system that does not really listen.
