Good benefits but you’re pretty much on your own

One thing I liked about working here was the lack of micromanagement. You could move at your own pace and nobody was breathing down your neck all day. Pay, mileage, and benefits were decent, and the union side sounded good on paper. But the training was almost nonexistent. One day of onboarding videos and then you’re sent out with someone who isn’t a trainer and clearly doesn’t want to train you. Management talks about monthly check-ins but in reality you don’t hear from them unless something goes wrong. There’s no family feeling at all. If you ask for help, you’re ignored or made to feel like a burden. Health benefits are solid, but support in the field is lacking big time.
