A few weeks ago, I was in a meeting with a couple of managers discussing our overtime policy. One of them mentioned that we need to hit our targets for the quarter, and it was clear they were pushing for extra hours without any real concern for how it affected us. We were told that working overtime wouldn't guarantee any extra pay because of how policy is set up. It reminded me of the strike in Anderson over similar issues. At the end of that meeting, I felt like the focus was all on the numbers, not on the people putting in the work. Washington could really stand to rethink this approach.
