The biggest draw for many people is stability. Layoffs are rare, and it’s hard to get fired without serious issues. Benefits are decent, and the brand name carries weight. But the tradeoff is limited upward mobility and relatively low pay growth. Promotions are slow, raises are modest, and long-term employees often stay more out of comfort than opportunity. Stability keeps people in place, but it doesn’t always keep them motivated.
