A couple of weeks ago, I put in a request to work remotely for a day. Thought it might help balance my workload after a really busy couple of weeks. My manager didn't even respond to the email. I followed up a few days later, just asking for a status. They replied that remote work is still tightly controlled, and that I should plan to be in the office instead. I sat there in my office, feeling stuck. It was a Wednesday afternoon, and the place was empty - just a few folks around. It struck me how many people are struggling with the same thing, but nobody talks about it. INFY keeps pushing for collaboration in person but leaves no room for flexibility. By the time Friday came around, I just realized it was pointless to keep asking.
