Three days in office but no desks?

I know every team has weirdness, but three office days hit a new level this week. We are dealing with missing desks, and the explanation was basically assigned area taken. Curious if three office days is isolated or if other groups are seeing the same pattern. What bugs me about three office days is that assigned area taken keeps sounding temporary while the calendar says otherwise.
