Thrown Into The Field Way Too Fast

On paper, this job sounds great. You work at your own pace, no one is hovering over you, decent pay, mileage, benefits, union backing. The reality is that training is basically nonexistent. You spend one day watching safety videos and then you’re sent out with someone who isn’t a trainer and doesn’t want to teach. You end up doing part of their route to make their day easier while learning almost nothing useful. Corporate talks about monthly check-ins and support, but I went half a year without a real one on one conversation unless something went wrong. Management barely communicates and doesn’t respond half the time. There’s no family culture, no support, and you’re made to feel guilty for taking days off. New hires deserve better training and actual leadership.
