There are training programs in place and they’re not terrible. You learn the basics and get through the dirty, rough parts of the job. The problem is seniority. New people end up doing the hardest work while long tenured employees coast. Raises are percentage based, so people who already make more benefit the most. Training doesn’t matter much when performance isn’t rewarded properly.
