What Cisco does

Cisco had about 82,400 employees on July 25, 2026, the last day of fiscal 2026. Its annual report for that year groups products into four categories: Networking, Security, Collaboration and Observability. Reportable segments are geographic: Americas; Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA); and Asia Pacific, Japan, and China (APJC). Each segment has its own headquarters, in San Jose, Amsterdam and Singapore respectively. Corporate headquarters are in San Jose, California.

San Jose, CA led the 1,128 H-1B labor condition applications (LCAs) filed under Cisco Systems Inc in calendar 2025, with 244. Eight more cities reached 25 filings that year:

These are filings, not headcount. The fiscal 2026 annual report says Cisco owns sites in the San Jose area, Research Triangle Park and Richardson, and leases office space in many other US locations. Outside the US, it names significant sites in Australia, Belgium, Canada, China, Germany, India, Israel, Norway, Poland and the United Kingdom, mostly in leased space.

Job titles and levels you will see

Plain Software Engineer accounts for 128 of the 1,128 LCA filings submitted in calendar 2025. Behind it are Software Engineering Technical Leader with 37, Solutions Engineer with 36, Software Development Engineer with 26 and Software QA Engineer with 25. Engineering Product Manager and Technical Consulting Engineer follow at 24 each, then Leader, Software Engineering at 23, Customer Delivery Architect at 22 and Product Designer at 20. Two of those ten titles carry "Leader" in the name, together 60 filings in 2025.

Workforce and hiring patterns

LCA filings under Cisco Systems Inc were 2,413 in calendar 2021, 1,956 in 2022 and 1,015 in 2023, then 1,331 in 2024 and 1,128 in 2025. In the fourth quarter of fiscal 2026, Cisco announced a restructuring plan with pre-tax charges estimated at up to $1 billion, of which $511 million was incurred in fiscal 2026. It expects the plan to be substantially complete by the end of fiscal 2027. A California WARN notice filed in June 2026 covers 471 employees, effective July 13, 2026: 236 in San Jose, 154 in Milpitas and 81 in San Francisco. The fiscal 2026 annual report says the company uses a hybrid work model in certain countries.
