Spotify runs an audio streaming service for music, podcasts and audiobooks, with 751 million monthly active users at December 31, 2025. On that date it counted 290 million Premium subscribers in 184 countries and territories. Its catalog then held more than 100 million music tracks and 7 million podcast titles.

What Spotify does

Spotify reports two segments, Premium and Ad-Supported. Premium revenue comes mainly from subscription fees. Ad-Supported revenue comes mainly from advertising sold across music and podcasts. In select markets, Premium users can watch eligible video podcasts without inserted ads and get a set number of audiobook hours each month. The registered office is in Luxembourg, while the principal operational office is in Stockholm. Average full-time headcount was 7,287 in 2025, down from 7,691 in 2024 and 9,123 in 2023. The US accounted for 3,466 of the 2025 average, about 48%. Sweden followed with 1,271 and the UK with 887. Another 1,663 employees and contractors, on average in 2025, worked across 23 other countries.

Of 142 H-1B labor condition applications (LCAs) that Spotify USA Inc submitted in calendar 2025, 92 named a New York worksite. No other city reached 25. Los Angeles, Boston and Miami are listed below because the fiscal 2025 annual report names them as regional US offices:

  • New York, NY: 92
  • Los Angeles, CA: 15
  • Boston, MA: 4
  • Miami, FL: 3

Nashville and Washington, DC, the other two regional offices, have no 2025 filings.

Stockholm and New York are the two principal operational offices. At December 31, 2025, Spotify leased about 438,000 square feet in Stockholm and occupied about 226,000. In New York it leased about 594,000 and occupied about 378,000, with the rest vacated and intended for sublease. The report also lists other Swedish offices and leased space in 23 more countries, among them Brazil, India, Japan and the UK.
