Unity Software Inc. builds the Unity real-time 3D engine and ads products for game developers, and had 4,412 full-time employees at December 31, 2025. Revenue was $1.85 billion in fiscal 2025. Headquarters are in San Francisco, and about 77% of full-time employees worked outside the United States at the end of 2025.

What Unity does

Unity reports one segment, software solutions, but describes two solution sets. Create Solutions covers the real-time 3D engine and development tools, used in games and in automotive, retail, manufacturing, healthcare, public sector and robotics. Grow Solutions is mostly ads products, including a mediation platform and the Unity Ad Network, which runs on the Unity Vector machine-learning model rolled out in the first quarter of 2025. Grow brought in $1.23 billion of fiscal 2025 revenue, Create $621 million. Offices numbered 25 in 16 countries at December 31, 2025.

Where Unity hires

Unity's H-1B labor condition applications (LCAs) for fiscal 2025 (October 2024 to September 2025) list 55 positions, 53 of them H-1B, with 28 for San Francisco, the only city above 25 filings. In LCAs for October 2025 to June 2026, Mountain View, California leads with 16 of 44 positions, after none in fiscal 2025, ahead of San Francisco with 14.

The 10-K for fiscal 2025 names Tel Aviv and Montreal as the largest offices by leased floor area. The careers site had 130 open postings on October 6, 2026; a posting can list several locations, so counts exceed 130:

  • Montreal 25, Mountain View 23, New York 21, San Francisco 14, Tel Aviv 11
  • Copenhagen 10, Bellevue 9, Vilnius 8, Beijing 7, Brighton 7

Remote postings that day covered 12 US states, four Canadian provinces, the UK, Finland and Lithuania. France was absent; the 10-Q for the quarter ended June 30, 2026 cites the planned closure of Unity France.

Job titles and levels you will see

LCAs for fiscal 2025 list Senior Software Engineer most often (6), then Software Engineer (4), Senior Business Systems Analyst (4) and Senior Data Engineer (4). In LCAs for October 2025 to June 2026, Senior Software Engineer still leads (6), but machine-learning titles rise: Staff Machine Learning Engineer, Senior Machine Learning Engineer and Senior AI Applied Research Scientist have 4 each.

Posting titles on October 6, 2026 run Junior, unprefixed, Senior, Staff and Principal for individual contributors, and Lead, Head of, Manager, Director and Vice President for leaders; Junior and Vice President appear once each. No numbered levels appear in posting titles. US postings dated September 2026 publish base salary ranges by geographic zone.

Good to know before you apply

  • Unity's hiring blog, updated October 2025, lists four stages: a 30-minute recruiter screen, a hiring manager interview, a skills assessment and a final "onsite" round, usually by video call.
  • Interviews are structured, with the same questions for every candidate for a role; Unity suggests STAR-format answers.
  • The careers page lists health, life and disability insurance, stock ownership, retirement plans, paid parental leave and a commute subsidy, varying by country.
  • All four postings opened on October 6, 2026 said relocation support was not available; two also ruled out visa sponsorship.
  • See the discussions below for how employees describe day-to-day work.
