After that, nothing changed. Days turned into weeks and it was like those words never happened. I noticed a colleague struggling to navigate the stairs because the restroom down the hall isn't accessible. When I brought it up to HR a few weeks later, the same promises were recited, but it felt empty. I walked away thinking about how nothing was going to change.
