job security is a constant worry

In a meeting last week on the seventh floor in Minneapolis, a manager casually mentioned how easily we could all be replaced. It was said almost offhandedly, but it hung in the air like a weight. I could see my teammates tense up. We've all been there - working hard, putting in the hours, but that reminder feels like a cloud over everything. One colleague, who's been here almost a decade, looked visibly shaken. It's hard not to think about how job security is always in the back of our minds. With the constant shifts and restructuring, it feels like we're all just one decision away from being out. I finished the meeting feeling uneasy, trying to shake off the comment but it lingered. I realized how much I value the work we do, even if the stability feels shaky.
