Pretty sure half the “come back to office” push was just a sneaky way to prune ppl without paying a proper severance. Like if you suddenly force office attendance knowing entire teams don’t live anywhere near the office… we see you. And ofc the official layoffs that followed had tiny packages attached because “well you didn’t comply with policy”.
