I was covering for a co-worker during a busy Tuesday morning shift at the Toronto store. I watched as the manager constantly praised one crew member who always seemed to be in their good books. Meanwhile, others, including myself, were being ignored despite working through the lunchtime rush without any acknowledgment. It felt like this one employee could do no wrong, while the rest of us were just there to fill in the gaps. After the rush, I mentioned it to a shift supervisor and got a shrug in response. No one on the floor seemed surprised at all.
