Micromanagement is excessive in many roles

a client was in the middle of signing documents when my manager leaned over my shoulder. they demanded to see every step as i helped the client with their account. i've been in this role for years and know the process inside out, but this was my everyday reality. in that moment, what should've been a smooth interaction turned into a spectacle, with the client clearly uncomfortable. it wasn't just this day, it's like this daily, watching over my shoulder instead of trusting me to do my job. we have a hybrid schedule with required in-office days, which makes it harder to keep morale up
