There is a lack of career development opportunities

During a meeting last month at the Singapore office, I mentioned my aspirations for growth within the company. I asked about potential training sessions, maybe some mentorship programs. The response was a vague assurance about "learning and development opportunities" that hardly ever feel real. I tried to push for specifics, but the conversation shifted back to projects and deadlines. It became clear no one had concrete plans for employee growth. Meanwhile, I see new hires eager to climb the ladder, only to realize the walls are higher than expected. It's hard to focus on the 401k benefits when career advancement feels stagnant. The lack of development pathways makes it frustrating to stay motivated in my role. I left that meeting feeling more disheartened than before, thinking about how many others share this struggle until they leave for better prospects.
