BlackRock is an investment management firm that runs iShares ETFs, mutual funds and separate accounts and sells Aladdin technology, with $14.0 trillion of assets under management at December 31, 2025. The 2025 10-K reports one operating segment, asset management, which management directs as a single business. The leased principal office is at 50 Hudson Yards in New York, and the firm owns an office building in Wilmington, Delaware. Associate leads the 539 subsidiary LCA filings for calendar 2025, at 220. Vice President follows with 184, then Analyst with 94 and Director with 37. Managing Director appears twice.
Postings seen October 13, 2026 put the grade in the title, using Analyst, Associate, Vice President and Director, as in "Vice President, Lead Full Stack Engineer - SMA Solutions". One AI platform role in Budapest was posted as "Vice President/Director", spanning two grades. Above Director, the 10-K signature page uses Managing Director and Senior Managing Director. Job categories in the careers search include Fund Accounting, Portfolio Management, Software Engineering, Data Science and Securities Lending.
By region at December 31, 2025, 40% of employees were in the Americas, 31% in EMEA and 29% in Asia-Pacific. Cuts have come in small, regular rounds. Press reports describe two rounds in 2025 of about 1% of staff each. On January 12, 2026, a news report put the cuts at about 250, about 1% of headcount, in investment and sales teams among others. A further round of about 200, just under 1%, followed on June 15, 2026. Both 2026 reports relied on unnamed sources and named no specific offices.
